Morgan County Lilly Endowment Community Scholars Announced - Tuesday, April 05, 2016

2016 Morgan County Lilly Endowment Community ScholarsTwo Morgan County students have been named this year’s 2016 Morgan County Lilly Endowment Community Scholars. These scholarships are the largest awarded each year by the Community Foundation of Morgan County.

Robert “Kayden” Mathers and Madelynne Wright will each receive full tuition for four years to the Indiana college of their choice and a $900 yearly stipend for required books and equipment.

In addition to Mathers and Wright, there were seven other finalists in this year’s application cycle for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. Finalists included: Loran Carlton (Mooresville High School), Zoe Foote (Eminence High School), Carissa Ooley (Mooresville High School), Logan Ratts (Martinsville High School), and Tisha Townsend (Martinsville High School). All finalists will receive scholarships awarded by the board of the Community Foundation of Morgan County in honor their achievements.

Hardly Trivial Registration Deadline & Thanks to Sponsors - Thursday, March 31, 2016

The team registration deadline for the Community Foundation of Morgan County’s third “Hardly Trivial” Trivia Night is Friday, April 1st. Teams can consist of four to 10 players, with an entry fee of $100. The team with the most correct answers will receive a cash prize of $500 and second place will receive a $250 cash prize. As questions will cover a wide range of categories, the more diverse the team, the better their chance of winning.

Hardly Trivial Returns for a 3rd Year - Monday, February 29, 2016
The Community Foundation of Morgan County is hosting the third “Hardly Trivial” Trivia Night on Friday, April 8. This fun filled team competition has been a phenomenal success the past two years, with 11 teams testing their trivia knowledge last year. Hardly Trivial will be at Grace Church located at 4172 East Allison Road, directly adjacent to Highway 67 in Camby. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. - Trivia starts at 6:00 p.m. Concessions will be available from the Grace Church Kidz Youth Group. Come prepared for soft pretzels, nachos, hot dogs and more, because all concession purchases will help the Grace Church Kidz attend church camp this summer. read more ...
On #GivingTuesday Citizens Bank to Match Donations $1-for-$1 - Thursday, November 19, 2015

This Christmas, the Community Foundation of Morgan County and Citizens Bank are teaming up to encourage Morgan County residents to reimagine how they spread joy during the season and support families during the Christmas holiday. For the first time, Giving Tuesday, a global giving phenomenon following Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, will support Morgan County families county-wide via the Morgan County Christmas Assistance Program through Churches in Mission. Citizens Bank will be offering a $1-for-$1 match for every online donation made through the #GivingTuesday campaign.*

CFMC, Kendrick Foundation and Charitable Allies Collaborting in New Space - Thursday, November 12, 2015
The Community Foundation of Morgan County, Kendrick Foundation, and Charitable Allies, have entered into a long-term space sharing arrangement at the newly opened space at 11 West Main Street in downtown Mooresville. Moving to Mooresville from Northwest Indianapolis, Charitable Allies is now available to partner with the CFMC and Kendrick Foundation in assisting local non-profits with their ongoing operational and administrative needs. read more ...
CFMC Awards $25,981.62 in Grants - Friday, October 16, 2015
On Monday, the CFMC Board of Directors announced the awarding of $25,981.62 in grants to area non-profit organizations.

A total of $13,991.62 in Arts Grants and $10,490 in Matching Grants was awarded. Matching Grants require that the organization raise an amount at least equal to what they ask for on their application. Arts grants require no matching funds. An additional special grant of $1,500 was awarded to Servants at Work (SAWs) for construction of wheelchair ramps in Morgan County. This is the second grant SAWs has received for this purpose from the CFMC. read more ...
CFMC Philanthropy Award Honorees Announced - Friday, October 16, 2015

The Community Foundation of Morgan County is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Philanthropy Awards dedicated to those who do good in Morgan County. These awards will be presented at the 2015 Philanthropy Dinner on November 05, 2015 6:00 p.m. at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana in Martinsville. Please join us in recognizing these people who have dedicated their lives to serving Morgan County. Tickets are $35 each, or $185 for a table of six, and can be purchased at either CFMC office or online at this link.
