Morgan County Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Applications Due January 20 - Tuesday, January 17, 2012
   Morgan County residents are reminded that the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program applications are due by Friday, January 20, 2012 to the offices of the Community Foundation of Morgan County. Applications must be received in either of the CFMC offices no later than 4 p.m. Applications can be downloaded from the CFMC website by visiting the scholarship Applications page. read more ...
Now Available - New 'Never Too Late' Cookbook Benefits Scholarship at CFMC - Tuesday, January 17, 2012
   A new cookbook - "Never Too Late for Another Cookbook" - features over 200 recipes from Morgan County residents. The cookbook is now available at both offices of the CFMC and at local businesses for $20, with all proceeds benefiting the "Never Too Late" Scholarship for adults 30 and over returning to school. The cookbook was created by Polly Amy and friends and features recipes from scholarship recipients, the former Hummingbird Heaven restaurant, and local residents. 
CFMC Public Holiday Open House December 14 - Wednesday, December 07, 2011
   Individuals are invited to a public open house on Wednesday, December 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Community Foundation of Morgan County's Martinsville office. Refreshments will be served and office tours will be given. No RSVP is required.

Free Mooresville Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be November 24 - Friday, October 28, 2011
   Area residents are invited to enjoy free food and fellowship at the Mooresville Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 24 from noon to 2 p.m. at Mooresville First United Methodist Church. Eric Pierce Memorial Softball Tournament to be October 1 - Wednesday, September 21, 2011
   The Eric Pierce Memorial Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 1 at the Centerbrook Sports Complex. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. and run throughout the day. Although all team slots are full, the family hopes that friends and community members will attend the tournament and show support. There is no fee to attend. Proceeds from the tournament registration fees will be given to the Community Foundation of Morgan County in Eric’s memory. read more ...

CFMC Offers Free 'How to Apply for Grants' Seminars August 16 and 18 - Thursday, August 04, 2011
   On August 16 and 18, the Community Foundation of Morgan County will offer two free “How to Apply for Grants” seminars for its current grant cycle. August 16 will be in the Mooresville office of the CFMC and August 18 will be in the Martinsville office of the CFMC. Both seminars will be at 7 p.m.

Mary 'Sal' Hench Leaves a Legacy for County Park through CFMC - Thursday, July 28, 2011
   Mary A. “Sal” Hench was a lifelong philanthropist, and although she resided in Defiance, Ohio, her legacy will live on in Morgan County. A gift from Hench’s estate was donated to the Community Foundation of Morgan County to be used to construct and preserve natural wetlands at Burkhart Creek County Park near Paragon. read more ...
CFMC Awards Record-Breaking $72,000 in Scholarships - Thursday, July 28, 2011
   At award nights and receptions county-wide through June, the Community Foundation of Morgan County was proud to award $72,540 in scholarships to both high school and non-traditional students. This is the largest amount the foundation has ever awarded, and is more than $8,000 above last year’s scholarship awards. read more ...

CFMC Announces 2011 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Recipients and Finalists - Thursday, March 24, 2011
   Tyler Huff and Daniel Kerstiens have been named Community Foundation of Morgan County 2011 Lilly Endowment Community Scholars. They will receive full tuition for four years to the Indiana college of their choice and an $800 yearly stipend for required books and equipment. Finalists for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship were Amy Anderson, Sarah Newton, and Ryan Schneck. read more ...

Morgan County Antique Appraisal Fair Fundraiser Returns April 9 - Wednesday, February 23, 2011

   The fifth annual Morgan County Antique Appraisal Fair will return Saturday, April 9. The fundraiser for the CFMC will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at Grace Church in Mooresville. Patrons can bring one to three antique items for a verbal appraisal for just $25, which benefits the foundation. read more ...

CFMC Expands Into Second Office - Monday, October 25, 2010

   A major gift from a Morgan County family has allowed the Community Foundation of Morgan County to acquire a building at 56 N. Main St. in downtown Martinsville. The building, a former law office and title company, will become the main office of the foundation. The Mooresville location at 250 N. Monroe St. will continue serving the county in addition to the new building. read more ...

Plan on Attending CFMC's 10th Anniversary Gala November 9 - Friday, October 01, 2010

   Plan on attending a celebration gala in honor of the Community Foundation of Morgan County’s 10th anniversary. On Tuesday, November 9, the CFMC Board of Directors will host a dinner and auction at 6:30 p.m. at the Art Sanctuary in Martinsville. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at the CFMC office or by mailing a check.

 
Lilly Endowment Adjusts Scholarship Program, No Changes for Morgan County - Tuesday, September 21, 2010

   The Lilly Endowment has recently announced a grant of $15 million to Independent Colleges of Indiana to support another round of Lilly Scholarships. The number of nominees that a community foundation can submit will now be based on the population each county serves. Morgan County will still be eligible to submit two students for nomination. 

Sgt. Dan R. Starnes Memorial Walk/Run September 25 Benefits Scholarship - Friday, September 10, 2010

   On Saturday, Sept. 25, the annual Sgt. Dan R. Starnes Memorial Walk/Run will take place at Pioneer Park in Mooresville. Registration is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. with the event beginning at 10 a.m. The cost is $25 per person, which includes a t-shirt, and all proceeds benefit the Sgt. CFMC Awards Record-Breaking $64,475 in Scholarships for Morgan County - Friday, August 20, 2010

   The Community Foundation of Morgan County awarded a record-breaking $64,475 worth of scholarships this May for the 2010 CFMC scholarship cycle. Both high school seniors and non-traditional/post high school students received a total of 47 scholarships awarded by the foundation. 

CFMC Presents Ellis Robinson Scholarship for Fellowship of Christian Athletes - Wednesday, August 18, 2010

   Although Ellis Robinson passed away nearly 40 years ago, his legacy is living on today through the Community Foundation of Morgan County. This summer the CFMC awarded Mooresville High School junior Brandon Smalling a scholarship for FCA Leadership Camp through the Ellis Robinson/First Christian Church Scholarship Fund for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. read more ...

   The CFMC will host two free "How to Apply for Grants" Seminars on August 17 and 19 at 7 p.m. The seminar on the 17th will be at the Academy Building at 250 N. Ben Elo Memorial Soccer Camp Cancelled for June 22 - Thursday, June 24, 2010
    Due to standing water on the Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation's soccer fields on Landersdale Road, the Ben Elo Memorial Soccer Camp will be cancelled for June 22. Friday's camp, which was originally a half-day, will now be a full day to make up for the cancellation.

   The CFMC has added a new scholarship for a senior graduating from Martinsville High School who plans to study sports broadcasting, sports marketing or sports medicine. CFMC Invites Community to Apply for Grants Starting Aug. 1 - Wednesday, September 17, 2008

   Non-profit organizations and groups interested in completing projects to benefit Morgan County are encouraged to apply for Community Foundation of Morgan County, Inc. Matching Grants or Arts Grants. The grant cycle will begin on Aug. 1 with applications due to the foundation office by 4 p.m. on Sept. 5.

CFMC Awards $43,373 in Matching Grant Funds - Nov. 10, 2006 - Tuesday, May 22, 2007

   Twelve Morgan County non-profit organizations are now one step closer to completing some major projects, thanks to $43,373 in Matching Grant funds awarded by the Community Foundation of Morgan County, Inc. on Nov. 1.

   From the smallest grant recipients of $500 to the largest grant recipient of $15,000, each organization is ready to get started on their projects.

   Projects are as unique as the organizations themselves . . .
