The Millennium Society
Recent dynamic expansion in managed funds at the Community Foundation of Morgan County means the staff and infrastructure must grow to meet this administrative challenge. That is why the CFMC is inviting residents to step up and join its new Millennium Society.

The Millennium Society is a select new giving group now accepting lead gifts by Charter Members. For as little as $500 of total annual giving, visionary individuals can assure the foundation’s work will continue far into the future.

The Community Foundation of Morgan County was formed in 2000 with the merger of two prior city-based community foundations and has experienced impressive growth since then. This success reflects growing needs in our county and understanding by those who see value in a central and well-managed public foundation.

Each year, the foundation provides thousands of dollars in grants to non-profit organizations and groups. The CFMC also helps distribute up to $900,000 in scholarships, including CFMC Scholarships, Lilly Endowment Scholarships, and Kendrick Foundation Scholarships.

In addition to its regular funding opportunities, the CFMC examines and helps county needs as opportunities arise. In 2008, the foundation established itself as a central location for giving to the flood recovery efforts, and with the help of many generous businesses and donors, has raised over $50,000 to date. Efforts to assist those affected by the floods are still ongoing, even into 2010.

There are many other ways the foundation helps the community, including administering funds for local charities and providing seminars and guidance to other county non-profits. By donating to the Millennium Society, individuals ensure that these good works can continue.

Individuals can donate at several levels, and businesses can join the Corporate Community Partners Club by donating $5,000 or beyond. Donations will go to help operating funds, unless directed by the donor to one of the CFMC’s 100 separate funds.

Millennium Society members will be honored at gatherings, in the foundation’s publications, and the annual dinner to publicly demonstrate to others their leadership and support.

Brochures can be mailed by request or can be downloaded from the CFMC Web site online at www.cfmconline.org. More information is available by calling the CFMC office locally at (317) 831-1232 or toll-free (877) 822-6958.
