Kendrick Foundation Awards Local Grants - Tuesday, August 30, 2016

In August, the Kendrick Foundation Board of Directors awarded 16 health-related grants to local non-profit organizations in the amount of $760,137. Projects range in size from approximately $12,000 to $89,000. All applicants are required to employ specific outcome measurement tools and collaborative approaches during the 2016-2017 Kendrick Foundation grant period. Most projects will be completed between September 1, 2016 and September 1, 2017.

Kendrick Foundation 2016 Grant Cycle Opens - Thursday, May 12, 2016

Beginning May 15, the Kendrick Foundation, Inc. will be accepting Letters of Intent for the 2016-2017 Grant Cycle. Interested organizations are strongly encouraged to attend one of two free How-To-Apply Grant Seminars held in Martinsville on May 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Community Foundation of Morgan County Office located at 56 N. Main St., and in Mooresville on May 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mooresville Public Library located at 220 W. Harrison St. The same information will be presented at both seminars. Further information and grant guidelines are available on the grants page.

The deadline for submitting the Letters of Intent and accompanying information will be 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

Kendrick Foundation Selects 43 Scholars for 2016 - Friday, April 22, 2016

2016 Kendrick Foundation Scholars

The Kendrick Foundation Board of Directors have named 43 Morgan County residents as  Kendrick Foundation Scholars for the 2016-2017 academic school year.

Kendrick Foundation scholars will receive a scholarship for tuition and required fees, up to a maximum of $15,000 per person per school year to attend the educational institution of their choice. A potential of $645,000 will be awarded this year.

The 2017 scholarship cycle will begin this fall, and information and applications will be available on the Kendrick Foundation website in late November of 2016. The scholarships are open to all Morgan County residents, including post-high school students and non-traditional students, who are pursuing degrees in one of the above mentioned health care fields. Kendrick Foundation Announces Changes in 2016 Grant Cycle - Wednesday, February 10, 2016

The Kendrick Foundation, Inc. has restructured its grant cycle for 2016. Letters of Intent will be accepted from May 15 through June 15, 2016, with grant applications due by August 1, 2016. This year's grant process will also continue to implement changes designed to help applicants focus on the measurements and outcomes of programming supported through Kendrick Foundation grants. Once a grant is awarded, an organization will have until August 1, 2017 to complete their program or project. read more ...

Kendrick Foundation Awards Local Grants - Friday, July 03, 2015

In June, the Kendrick Foundation Board of Directors awarded 32 health-related grants to 25 non-profit organizations to benefit Morgan County residents in the amount of $1,114,825.40.

Projects range in size from approximately $2,000 to ensure the continuation of CPR training to the more than 6,000 students and employees of MSD of Martinsville, to more than $100,000 for Morgan County diabetes prevention programs for both teens and adults through the Franciscan St. Francis Foundation. Projects will be completed between July 15, 2015 and April 15, 2016. read more ...

Kendrick Foundation to Move Mooresville Location - Wednesday, July 01, 2015

11 West Main St. will soon serve as the primary location for the Kendrick Foundation. After upgrades, networking, and furnishings have been completed in July the new office will open to the public and hours will be 9-4pm, Monday-Friday, and by appointment. 


An open house will be announced in the near future so the Kendrick Foundation may welcome the community to the new office, located in downtown Mooresville at 11 West Main Street. More details will be announced once they become available. read more ...

Kendrick Foundation Selects 62 Scholars for 2015 - Friday, June 05, 2015

The Kendrick Foundation Board of Directors has named 62 Morgan County residents as Kendrick Scholars for 2015. Kendrick Foundation scholars will receive a scholarship for tuition only, up to a maximum of $15,000 per person per school year to attend the educational institution of their choice. Students will pursue degrees in medicine, dentistry, nursing, and allied health services.

The Kendrick Foundation’s board personally read through each of the 80 scholarship applications received this year, making final scholarship decisions as a committee. Members of the Kendrick Foundation board include, Lynn T. Gordon, Secretary and Treasurer; Greg McKelfresh; R. Barry Melbert, MD, Vice President;  Jerry Sanders, PhD; Shelley D. Voelz, President and Chairperson, and; Eric Wymer, MD.

Of the 62 scholars this year, 46 students have received the scholarship for two or more years. read more ...
